Dellwood Park, Mt. Pleasant, Texas

After a month of moving to a new state and days of looking for a park for my son to play with, I finally found one not far from my place. My son played there and met a lot of children his age. It is a big and nice playground and walking path for the adults.

Dellwood Park is the pride Mt. Pleasant. It offers playgrounds, walking paths, exercise areas, swimming pool, baseball fields, tennis courts, hotel, café and a Boy Scout "hut". There is a running path stream and  covered picnic tables & grills for everybody to enjoy. Visitors can enjoy the springs by just watching them quietly flow.

The park was developed in the early 1890's to exploit the area’s natural mineral springs, which was believe to have curative properties. The waters were promoted by local doctors as having the ability to cure intestinal ailments. Much of the parks 210 acres were later developed as a housing project, with the city purchasing 45 acres for use as a public park.

Importance Of Inserting Relevant Image At Your Blog Post

An image speaks a thousand words, a very true and applicable quote especially for blog posts.

Having or inserting at least one relevant image at your blog post, no matter what the topic or how long the article is, is highly important if you want more traffic and attention. I listed few tips below in case you wanted more info about how one relevant image can bring avalanche of hits and natural links to your article or post.

Search Engine Exposure

Search engines of today do have a powerful image indexing capability that enables them to give lots of images at their image search engine result page. Google image search, for example, is a huge traffic driving engine. You might miss the chance of getting seen at their result page if you don't have any image at your post at all.

Natural Links Resulting To Ranking And Traffic

Images at your blog post, especially if it's original and a property of yours, can give your blog or your article great links that can translate into ranking and traffic.

Your image might go viral at Pinterest, a huge image social media network that drives quality and targeted traffic to the image’s original source. That Pinterest image virality will result into lots of links (via repins) and traffic. Search engines like Google will consider this as a good signal and might place your article or blog in a higher position for the keyword or topic you are targeting at.

That is just for Pinterest alone, there are lots of social networks and media out there that might use and borrow your image in return of links and traffic.

If you have something to add with the above information, feel free to add them out at the comment section. Would love to hear something from you.

Coron town

If you only have 2-3 hours to spare while in Coron, then you should definitely visit Mt. Tapyas and Maquinit Hotsprings. This quick excursion is already considered a day tour. So you can definitely squeeze these two famous sites in your trip itinerary.

"Climb up the mountain!"

If you're up for a little adventure, then brace yourself for a 700-step climb up Mt. Tapyas. It's best to go up these steps in the afternoon, so that you will be able to witness Coron's lovely sunset. You'll also be able to appreciate a 360° view of the entire island from this location.

Aside from those previously mentioned, you'll also be able to witness the Coron Cross, as soon as you reach the summit. The cross itself is brought to life with lights during the night.

Also, if you're worried about not bringing any drinks to your climb, there will be several vendors along the way, selling cold water and Gatorade thirst-quenchers.

Maquinit Hotsprings

To help ease your tired muscles after an exhausting climb, a relaxing dip by Maquinit Hotsprings is something that you should definitely experience. You’ll be able to encounter a short, bumpy ride along the way. But as soon as you see the hotsprings, you will surely forget how rocky the travel was. You will surely feel ignited with excitement.

Maquinit Hotsprings has an entrance fee (Php150 as of January 2012). But aside from that, the famous site also offers two pools -- both of which are composed of hot and saltwater. Moreover, you’ll be able to witness an interesting sight of rock formations within the pools. So be careful when stepping into the pool. Not only is the water hot, you may also slip or cut yourself from the jagged edges of the rock.

Furthermore, you can relax in Maquinit while staying soaked in the hot water. You can take photos, while viewing the vast ocean from the pool. Of course, there will always be a vast number of tourists enjoying the hotsprings. But rest assured that you will still have that peace and quiet while there.

Enchanted Kingdom, Philippines Amusement Park

Hubby and I travels a lot. He loves  to take pictures of every places he visited and  have them all stored in a hard drive. When we moved to US from Qatar, all the hard drives were packed in one of the  foot lockers and I never had the chance to unpacked them. Last month, we moved from Oklahoma to Texas, and some of the stuff were still packed including the old photographs.

One of those pictures were our trip to Enchanted kingdom on our 2005 vacation to Philippines. That was hubby's second trip back home. Hubby loves to travel around the globe and Philippines is his favorite place to relax and unwind. In fact he is planning to retire there with me someday when all the kids are grown.

Enchanted Kingdom, located in Sta Rosa, Laguna, is the first and only world -class theme park in the Philippines that was opened to public in October 19, 1995 and now on its 17 years of giving the Filipino a fun place to spend the holidays and weekend. Right now it is the "Disneyland" of the Philippines. There is no comparison between the Disneyland and Enchanted Kingdom when it comes to size, fun rides, attractions and activities but at least the Philippines is proud to have something to offer to their people.

Here are some pictures taken from my sisters photo album during our  2010 visit to Enchanting Kingdom. You can see how everybody enjoyed the amusement park.

The rides and attractions are   located into seven park  themed park zones:
  1. Brooklyn Place- Take a journey down the street of Brooklyn, one of New York's five borough and reminisce the years of silent movies and slapstick comedies as entertainers parade down the cobblestone street.
  2. Portabello- The sights and sound of the Caribbean Atmosphere can be found in this zone. Rio Grande is the  parks largest attraction were you can get wet and wild.
  3. Boulderville- Is inspired by the dinosaur era, this prehistoric cartoon zone will capture your kids imagination. Dinosaur mascot and puppet show entertains  everyone who set foot in this zone .
  4. Victoria Park- This park is inspired by Queen Victoria era. Grand Carousel is the zones centerpiece attraction. The parks mascot,"Eldar the Wizard" is here for you to meet,  greet and take photographs.
  5. Midway Boardwalk- Coney Island, "Americas Playground" in the 1930's comes to life in this zone. They have Anchors Away, which I don't recommend so much  coz this is really too scary and breathe taking, Up Up and Away, Bump N' Splash and more.
  6. Jungle Outpost- This zone sets in the the heart of the Amazon in the jungle of Central America. The main attraction is the jungle log Jam and the Swan Lake.
  7. Spaceport- Here we can find the country's first  and only triple loop coaster that  turns riders upside down six times- 3 times forward and 3 times backward.

The Beautiful Tinuy-an Falls of Bislig City, Surigao Del Sur

Who would have thought that we have our own version of Niagara Falls right at the southeastern part of Mindanao? There lies Bislig City a.k.a  The Booming City By The Bay. It faces the Philippine Sea and keeps the beautiful Tinuy-an Falls in Brgy. Burboanan. It is a cascading three falls and known to be the widest in the country. During the rainy season, its thick white waters curtain the stair-like stones where it flows.

A waterfall massage would be nice to have in this beautiful place; truly picturesque and one of its kind. Visitors are allowed to enjoy the magnificent flowing water up to the third level. They were able to set up a 97-steps stairs at the right side of the falls and no one is allowed to go up without a guide. For safety purposes, visitors are not allowed to position themselves near the cliff part. It would be advisable to bring waterproof cameras as well because the mist is too strong even if you’re meters away.

For those who will be visiting this place from Davao City, it is usually included in the Surigao tour packages that would take at least 6 hours of travel. Most of the visitors would leave downtown Davao at around midnight and get to witness this stunning view early in the morning. You can bring along food and just rent one of their cottages. Rates in the place are very cheap for something as awesome as this one.

What are you waiting for? Schedule your off days and pay this marvelous place a visit.

Tito Sotto on "Copying as the Highest Form of Flattery"

$

We still read a lot about Senator Tito Sotto and the latest  was the Rappler's post with picture and video titled " Sotto, Enrile laugh off plagiarism complaints." Watching the video and looking at the photo, Sotto obvioulsy laughs just to hide the embarrassment  for plagiarizing but his face cannot hide the  true feeling of guiltiness  while Enrile and the people surrounding him obviously faked their laughs just to ride on the issue for a reason, well after all politics is politics.

And the latest  from Facebook from InterAksyon, www.interaksyon.com

"Senator Vicente Sotto III took to the Senate floor on Tuesday afternoon, and offered an apology to the family of the late New York Senator Robert Kennedy for having lifted from Kennedy's speech without attribution. He added, however:

"Copying, imitation, is the highest form of flattery. If it upsets the Kennedy family, then I am sorry, but then that's not my intention."

The Facebook users reactions:
  •  highest form of flattery pa ang nasabi....
  •  iba ung imitation as form of flattery at copyright infringement/plagiarism hehe. sotto ka tlga oo.
  • darling of the tweets yang si Sotto eh. =>
  • oo nga, kaya hindi matapos-tapos yang issue nya eh :D
  • he can't admit that what he did was wrong... :(
  • hehe! ganun di dapat pala ay ma-flatter pa yung mga movie makers sa mga nagtitinda ng copies hehe!
No comment, these people are just saying their piece. Good luck Tito Sen. We are hoping for the best  and clear your name regarding  this controversial issue.

Fact Number 1 – The surroundings of the church is a home of several fortune tellers – Some people may think of their existence as an act against the church but for someone who would want to gain an experience about what most people think about their future, visiting the church site for site seeing and fortune telling sessions would be an additional experience that they could try.

Fact Number 2 – The Quiapo church have wondrous stories to tell – If the said church could only talk, it surely relay every experience that it was able to face for decades. Historians indicate that over the years, the church evolved from a typical looking “nipa and bamboo “shelter to a Mexican baroque edifice which experienced calamities such as fire, earthquakes and even being robbed.

Fact Number 3 - It is a home of Faith – Since it is known to be the home of the Miraculous Black Nazarene image. Each year, hundreds and even millions of Devotees coming from all parts of the country would gather on a procession to celebrate “The Black Nazarene’s Feast Day”. As per record, the said celebration is known to be one among the biggest celebrations that are commemorated by most devotees.  People would normally attend a procession in honor of the image as it is believed to bring good luck and healing if one is able to get hold any part of the image.

There are plenty of island escapes in the Philippines that boast of lush mountainous terrain and white sandy beaches. So if you're planning that perfect nature trek or island hopping adventure, then CORON, PALAWAN is a must-see destination for you. Experience what this Palawan province can offer you in just under 7 hours.

1st Wonder: Kayangan Lake

Kayangan Lake is one of the many famous sites in Coron where you can have your picture taken with a mountain and a gorgeous blue sea as your background. The lake could be accessed through a short trek up a hill (as it's situated above sea level). It’s also been known for its nice mix of freshwater and saltwater.

2nd Wonder: Banol Beach

Your island hopping trip will not be complete without having lunch at Banol Beach. Most tours will offer this with buffet lunch in their package (usually includes rice, grilled fish and chicken, red crabs, seaweed with slices of tomatoes and onions). So after a hefty lunch, you can rest your tummy while basking under the sun or swimming by the beach.

3rd Wonder: Twin Lagoon

Another popular destination in Coron, the Twin Lagoon is known to be separated by a wall of rock formations. This remarkable site was also made famous by its way of entry. You can either glide or float through the narrow opening (the rock is about 5 inches from your face), or climb up an affixed deck of stairs (just on top of the opening). It’s an adventure on its own.

4th Wonder: Coral Gardens

Swim with different kinds of fish by exploring the Coral Gardens. The dive here is worth it.

5th Wonder: Siete Pecados Marine Sanctuary

Another marine sanctuary, Siete Pecados is also a good spot for snorkeling, diving and marine life exploring.

If you have extra time to spare, pass-by the La Sirenetta Restaurant & Bar (you'll know you're nearby when you see the mermaid statues). Order their Penne Arrabiata and Calamansi Juice for your afternoon snack.

Blog Name:TristanKhalil.com
Category/Niche: freelancing, social media, SEO
Blog Description: Your Virtual Assistant and SEO Professional for Hire! TristanKhalil.com is also a blog about the latest updates on the digital world... from social media, Facebook, hippest gadgets, awesome photos, cool websites and more!

About the blogger.

I am an online freelancer who loves to share in my blog, anything that is related to freelancing, work at home, social media and SEO. I am also an avid online gamer, anime and manga lover, and an amateur photographer.

What’s the inspiration behind your blog and how long has it been around?

I started blogging way back when there's still Friendster.com just as a hobby. Then later on, I decided to blog more for the sake of sharing what I've read from the forums and other blogs, and I blog just about anything. It was just last year, when I started freelancing that I found my dedication. From all that I learned in my online social media course, to the interactions I had with other freelancers, bloggers, social media managers and seo professionals. Then a friend helped me get a domain and hosting, and so, TristanKhalil.com was re-created.

How did you get into blogging?

Like I said in the previous question above, I started blogging during the Friendster.com era. Sharing my school experiences, facts found in the forum and just about anything that I can think of. It was just last year that I really focused on a niche.

What is your favorite blog post and why?

I can say that my favorite blog post is the one I blog about MORCON 2011. It's because it was the very first conference I joined that I met my virtual friends, mentors, as well as new faces from the SEO, Social Media and Blogging communities. You can read about the said conference here: http://tristankhalil.com/2011/11/roundups-on-mastering-online-ranking-conference-morcon-2011/
